Two deer poachers held in the Sundarbans | District

KHULNA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - Forest guards on Wednesday arrested two deer poachers from Kochikhali Dimarchar area in the Sundarbans. The arrested poachers were identified as Raju Shikdar, 30, and Jamal Hawlader, 22, residents of Khejurbaria village under Mathbaria upazila in Pirojpur. During the operation, they also seized a nylon-made snare trap used for hunting deer from their possession. The Forest Department sources said a patrol team led by Forester Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kochikhali Wildlife Sanctuary, spotted the two men hiding inside the forest with traps set for deer.
