KHULNA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) arrested a notorious pirate with arms and ammunition from the Sundarbans early today. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the BCG Mongla station conducted a drive in the Tambulbunia canal area, adjacent to the Shela River, around 6:00 am, confirmed Lt Commander Siam-ul-Haque of BCG Mongla station (Media). The arrested was identified as Alamgir Hossain Sagor, 45, an associate of the notorious Karim Sharif group. He was held while preparing for a robbery in the forest, the official said.
