Man shot dead in broad daylight near Dhaka lower courts

A man has been shot dead in front of the National Medical College gate near Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court. The murder occurred around 11am on Monday, according to Mollik Ahsan Swami, deputy police commissioner for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Lalbagh Division. The deceased has been identified as Tarique Sayed Mamun. He was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital emergency department, where the doctor-on-duty declared him dead, according to Faruk Hossain, officer in charge of the hospital’s police outpost.
