Savar and Ashulia will be merged to form new city corporation, says Advisor Asif Mahmud

Local Government Advisor Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has said Savar merged with Ashulia will be elevated to a city corporation, while Keraniganj will be upgraded to a ‘Class A’ municipality. He wrote, “The government has taken a policy decision to merge Savar Municipality and Ashulia Union into Savar City Corporation and to upgrade Keraniganj as a ‘Class A’ municipality, under the jurisdiction of South City Corporation.” Savar is an Upazila in Dhaka district, and Ashulia is a union within Savar.
