Power and Energy Advisor Fouzul Kabir Khan has expressed confidence that Bangladesh will add 1,454MW of solar power to the national grid within February 2026. The government plans to install solar panels on the rooftops of 46,854 public and educational buildings, significantly boosting the country’s renewable energy capacity and reducing reliance on costly imported fuels. The project was formalised through an inter-ministerial agreement signed on Tuesday at the Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka. This initiative is set to be a cornerstone in Bangladesh's renewable energy efforts.
