Police arrest fraudster for swindling Tk 10.5 lakh | Others

DHAKA, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) – Mohammadpur police under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested a fraudster, Md Rajib Khan alias Ishan, on charges of deceiving a young woman into marriage and swindling Tk 10.50 lakh from her in the Mirpur area. A police team conducted a raid in the Mirpur-10 Metrorail Station area around 1:30 pm yesterday and arrested him. Police also seized a mobile phone used in the fraudulent activities. According to a press release issued by the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division today, the victim, Sumaiya Sultana, met Ishan, a Greece expatriate, through Facebook about two years ago and developed a relationship with him.
