DHAKA, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today placed former Dhaka-7 lawmaker Haji Mohammad Salim and his successor Solaiman Salim on a four-day remand each in a case lodged over the killing of Jhut (garment-factory scrap) trader Md Monir during the July Mass Uprising last year. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhad Ishtiaq passed the order after police produced the father-son duo before the court and sought a 10-day remand for each of them in the case. Haji Mohammad Salim was detained from the capital's Bongshal area on September 1, 2024, while Solaiman Salim was arrested from Hazaribagh on November 13 the same year.
