9 men, including Obaidul Quader’s younger brother held in city | Others

DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) have arrested nine leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations, including Shahadat, the younger brother of former minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader. Deputy Commissioner of DB (media and public relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said they were arrested from different parts of the capital in the past 24 hours for their suspected involvement in anti-state activities such as bringing out and financing sudden processions.
