Dhaka has topped the Higher Secondary Certificate results this year in both overall pass rate and GPA-5 achievements among the nine general education boards. At a press conference held at 10am on Thursday at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, Prof Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, unveiled the detailed results and statistics. In Dhaka, 64.62 percent of the 292,160 students who took the exams passed. Among the 188,783 successful candidates, 26,063 secured GPA-5. The Barishal board followed in second place with a pass rate of 62.57 percent, where 37,066 out of 61,481 students passed, and 1,674 obtained GPA-5.
