Canadian envoy meets Jamaat Ameer | Others

DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Canadian High Commissioner to Dhaka Ajit Singh today met with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman at his office at Bashundhara in the capital. Canadian High Commission’s Political Councilor Marcus Davies, Senior Trade Commissioner Debra Boyce and Political Adviser Nissar Ahmed were present in the meeting. Referring the upcoming national election of Bangladesh as an important milestone in the path to democracy, the Jamaat Ameer called for Canada’s full cooperation and technical assistance to hold the election in a free, fair and acceptable manner.
