Shibir-backed panel sweeps 24 out of 26 central posts in CUCSU election | Others

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed Sompritir Shikkharthi Jote panel has secured victory in 24 out of the 26 central posts, including vice-president and general secretary, in the Chattogram University Central Students' Union (CUCSU) election. Chief Election Commissioner, Professor Monir Uddin, announced the results at around 5 am today (Thursday) at the university's BBA Faculty auditorium. He stated that the election was conducted peacefully and in a festive atmosphere. In the VP race, the Shibir-backed candidate Ibrahim Hossain Rony won the vice-president (VP) post with 7,983 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) backed candidate Sazzad Hossain, who received 4,374 votes.In the election for the general secretary position, Sayed Bin Habib, supported by Shibir, won...
