After a 35-year hiatus, elections to the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) and hall and hostel unions began on Wednesday morning. Voting started at 9:00 am in 60 polling rooms across 15 centers set up in five faculty buildings and will continue until 4:00 pm. The five faculty buildings hosting the polls are the Faculty of Social Sciences, Old Arts Faculty, New Arts Faculty, Faculty of Business Administration, and Faculty of Science. Each polling room has five ballot boxes—four for CUCSU elections and one for hall union elections—and can accommodate 500 voters.
