A Bangladeshi man has been injured, while a Myanmar national has died in a landmine explosion along the zero line of the Alikadam border in Bandarban, according to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). The explosion took place around 10am on Tuesday near the Poamuhuri border in Kurukpata Union of of the Upazila, said Ramu Battalion (30 BGB) Commanding Officer in Cox’s Bazar Lt Col Kazi Mahtab Uddin. A BGB media statement said the blast occurred inside Myanmar, west of border pillar number 55, at a place called Hataomogpara.
