Ministry fires Khagrachhari District Council chair Jiruna over ‘corruption, misconduct’

The Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs has removed Khagrachhari District Council Chairperson Jiruna Tripura from her post over allegations of corruption and misconduct. The decision was announced in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Mangal Chandra Pal on Tuesday afternoon. On Jul 7 this year, the ministry had ordered her to refrain from all council activities following a number of allegations.
