Man gets life in jail for abducting, raping Viqarunnisa student

A Dhaka court has sentenced a man to life in prison for the 2017 abduction and rape of a student in ninth grade at Dhaka’s Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Munshi Md Moshiar Rahman delivered the verdict in the case on Tuesday. The convict, Anis Ahmed Neel, is absconding. The court issued an arrest warrant against him, according to Rashedul Islam, the bench assistant for the tribunal.
