SINGAPORE, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The United States has delayed imposing tariffs on Singapore's pharmaceutical exports to give companies more time to negotiate exemptions, the city-state's junior trade minister said Tuesday. President Donald Trump's administration said it would impose 100 percent tariffs on all branded pharmaceutical products from October 1, unless drug companies were building manufacturing plants in the United States. "The implementation of this tariff has since been delayed to allow time for pharmaceutical companies to negotiate exemptions with the US administration," minister Gan Siow Huang told parliament.
