Mirza Abbas, Rizvi, 165 others acquitted in police vehicles torching case

A Dhaka court on Monday acquitted 167 people, including BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and the party’s senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, of the charges in a case lodged over the torching of two police vehicles in 2018. Judge Sabbir Faiz of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court passed the order, accepting the final report submitted by the police in the case, defence counsel Mohiuddin Chowdhury told BSS.
