The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Sunday began hearing arguments in the crimes against humanity case against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, and detained former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun. Chief prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam opened the arguments before the three-member tribunal chaired by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder. The tribunal adjourned the hearing until Monday morning. Hasina, Asaduzzaman and Mamun are facing the trial for their alleged command responsibility in committing atrocities across Bangladesh during the July mass uprising in 2024.
