DHAKA, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today sent former lawmaker of Nilphamari-3 constituency Saddam Hossain Pavel to jail in connection with an attempted murder case filed over the shooting of Dhaka College student Majedul Islam. New Market Thana police produced Pavel before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court after the end of his two-day remand and submitted a petition seeking his confinement in jail. Metropolitan Magistrate Minhazul Islam, on behalf of the CMM, granted the petition after hearing the prosecution. Police arrested Pavel from the city's Lalmatia area on September 4 and produced him before the court the next day.
