Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish chief Mamunul Haque has demanded that the general election be held under the legal framework of the July Charter, calling it “a matter of life or death”. Addressing the interim government, he accused the authorities of failing to establish the Charter’s legal foundation despite “sitting in power on the blood of children”. “You’re preparing to announce the election schedule, redrawing constituencies, yet the state has not implemented the July Charter -- a symbol of honour for the martyrs,” he said. “There is no room for any alternative.
