DHAKA, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS) – A Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court has sentenced auto-rickshaw driver Md Belal, 33, to one month in jail for attacking a police sergeant at Manik Mia intersection in the capital. According to a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media and Public Relations Division here today, traffic police were conducting a drive against illegal battery-operated auto-rickshaws at Manik Mia crossing on October 8. As part of the operation, 17 battery-powered auto-rickshaws were sent to the Basila dumping ground, it said.
