Man sentenced to death for killing wife in Kamrangirchar | Others

DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced one Md Sohel Rana, 23, to death for killing his wife Sonia Akhter by pressing a pillow on her face for dowry in the capital’s Kamrangirchar area in 2016. Judge Munshi Md Moshiar Rahman of Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal -4 pronounced the judgment and fined the convict, who is still at large, TK one lakh. It also acquitted Sheuli Begum and Mazeda Begum of the charges in the case. According to the case documents, Sohel Rana married Sonia in 2023.
