Court orders freezing of Taposh's 3 bank accounts | Others

DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the freezing of three bank accounts of former Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, which reportedly hold a total of Taka 17.90 lakh, over allegations of corruption. Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order after accepting a plea submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). According to the ACC plea, Taposh amassed illegal wealth of Taka 73.19 crore through corruption and abuse of power during his tenure as DSCC mayor and kept the wealth under his possession.
