Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detectives have arrested five Awami League activists, including Md Omar Faruk Sumon, former member of parliament for the Naogaon-6 constituency. The arrest was confirmed by a statement from the DMP Mass Media and Public Relations Division on Thursday, but the other arrestees were not immediately identified.
