Around 500 bhori gold stolen from jewellery shop, owner claims

Around 500 bhoris of gold ornaments were stolen from a jewellery shop inside Fortune Shopping Mall in Malibagh, Dhaka, early Thursday, the shop owners claimed. Police and local sources said the theft took place at Shompa Jewelers inside the mall around 3:00 am. CCTV footage showed two burglars, disguised in burqas, cutting the shutter lock and stealing a large amount of gold. The shop owner, Achinta Kumar Biswas, told Jago News, “Around 400 bhoris of gold jewelry were displayed in the store, in addition to approximately 100 bhoris kept as mortgaged gold.
