237 Indian cows, 42 buffaloes worth Tk 3cr seized in Sylhet, Sunamganj | Others

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday seized 237 Indian cows and 42 buffaloes worth about Tk 3 crore in two separate operations in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts. BGB Sylhet Battalion Headquarters and Bishnakandi BOP conducted a special operation at Itachoki on the border of Rustampur Union of Gowainghat Upazila and seized 237 Indian cows brought from India for illegal smuggling into Bangladesh, said a BGB press release. In another operation, the patrol team of Lafarge BOP seized 42 Indian buffaloes in the Dinertuk area of Doarabazar Upazila in Sunamganj, it also said.
