The Jamaat-e-Islami has submitted its amended constitution and bank account details to the Election Commission six years after its registration was cancelled. On Wednesday, a letter signed by the party’s Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar was handed over to the EC's Election Assistance Branch. The EC had introduced political party registration rules before the ninth parliamentary election in 2008, granting registration to 39 parties, including the Awami League, BNP, Jatiya Party, and Jamaat-e-Islami.
