Jamaat condemns detention of Shahidul Alam by Israeli forces | Others

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami has condemned the detention of Bangladeshi photographer and writer Shahidul Alam by Israeli forces. In a statement today, Jamaat-e Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar said that the Israeli forces detained several vessels in international waters on Wednesday, including the aid ship Conscience-part of the ‘Gaza Freedom Flotilla’— which was heading towards the blockaded Gaza Strip. During the seizure, 93 individuals were detained, including journalists, doctors, and human rights activists. Among those detained, there is well-known Bangladeshi photographer Shahidul Alam. The vessels were reportedly transporting essential humanitarian assistance, including food, water, and medicine, for the residents of Gaza.
