Prof Muhammad Azad Khan has applied to step down from his role as director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), citing health reasons. He submitted the request to the secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division on Tuesday, a day after the ministry called for applications from interested senior education cadre officers to fill the post. Efforts to reach both Prof Azad and Secretary Rehana Parveen for comment were unsuccessful.
