The Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has declared the July National Charter a pivotal milestone in the country’s political history and demanded that it be legally recognised through a national referendum. The party further insisted that the upcoming parliamentary elections be held in accordance with the principles of the charter. The council convened on Tuesday, 7 October, at 7 pm at the party’s central party amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman in the chair.
