Poet detained for alleged derogatory remarks about heaven

Poet, cultural activist, and graphic designer Shamim Ashraf has been detained in Mymensingh for allegedly making derogatory remarks about heaven. Police detained him from the Gulki Bari area of the city around 8:30 pm on Monday (October 6). Shamim Ashraf, son of Md Alim Uddin of Hargujir Par in Ward 29, is also the owner of ‘Graffiti,’ located at Ampotti intersection in Mymensingh.
