Price fall in large-cap drives stocks down | Business

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - Country's both bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE)and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - today plunged due to mainly price fallin large-cap securities. DSEX, the broad index of the DSE, declined by 24.0 points to settle at 5,424points as against 5,448 points in the previous trading session. Meanwhile, market turnover also increased by 19.0% to Taka 7.4 billion fromTaka 6.2 billion in the previous session. On the sectoral front, Pharma (11.2%) issues exerted the highest turnover,followed by Bank (10.8%) and Textile (9.2%) sectors. Sectors mostly displayeddismal returns, out of which Travel (-2.2%), Textile (-1.8%) and Ceramic (-1.0%) exerted the most corrections on the bourse today, while Life Insurance(2.0%), IT (1.0%) and Tannery (0.5%) exhibited...
