Fisherman wounded by crocodile receives Taka one lakh compensation | District

BAGERHAT, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - A fisherman injured in a crocodile attack in the Eastern Sundarbans received compensation today from the Forest Department. East Sundarbans Division's Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury handed over a cheque of Taka one lakh to injured fisherman Saiful Jamaddar at the DFO office. According to the Forest Department, Saiful, son of Golam Mostafa of Joymoni village in Mongla Upazila, was seriously injured in a crocodile attack on October 7, 2024, while catching crabs on the Pashur River.
