Bangladesh records nine dengue deaths, highest daily hospitalisations this year

In the last 24 hours, 1,042 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh, marking the highest daily figure of the year, while nine more people died due to the disease. Previously, the highest single-day admission was 845 on Sept 28. The death toll reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday is equal to the highest daily fatalities of the year, previously reported on Sept 21. Due to government holidays on Friday and Saturday, data from districts outside Dhaka is often delayed, with full reports arriving on Sunday.
