GAIBANDHA, Oct 2, 2025 (BSS) - The five-day-long Sharadiya Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community ended today in Gaibandha with the immersion of idols at different water bodies across all seven upazilas of the district amid peace and festivity. Before immersion, Hindu devotees of all ages took part in singing kirton, performing arati with incense smoke, and dancing in front of the altars to seek divine blessings. In the evening, the idols of Goddess Durga and other deities were carried out of the puja mandaps in colourful processions before being immersed in rivers, ponds, canals and other water bodies.
