Traditional Sharadiya boat race held in Patuakhali | District

PATUAKHALI, Oct 2, 2025 (BSS) - A traditional ‘Sharadiya Boat Race’ was held at Dashmina Upazila of Patuakhali as part of the ongoing Sharadiya Durga Puja celebrations this afternoon. The race took place at Nabaran Kabiraj Bari pond in Dashmina Sadar Union, continuing a 50-year-old Bijoya Dashami tradition. Six teams participated in the colorful competition, drawing thousands of spectators from surrounding areas. Hashem Fakir's team clinched first place, while Shah Alam's team and Lal Mia's team secured second and third positions respectively.
