BNNC DG calls to reach health services at people's doorsteps | District

KHULNA, Sept 29, 2025 (BSS) - Director General (DG) of the BangladeshNational Nutrition Council (BNNC) Dr Rezwanur Rahman on Monday said that theupcoming National Nutrition Plan-3 will recommend forming nutritioncoordination committees at the union level. "Elected representatives must step forward to ensure health services reach atpeople's doorsteps," he said, stressing the importance of reducing maternaland child mortality while improving nutrition among children. He made the remarks as the chief guest at a learning-sharing meeting,organised under the Right to Grow project with the District NutritionCoordination Committee at the Civil Surgeon's office in Khulna. Dr. Rahman [DG] pointed out that although rural nutrition programs haveexpanded, little progress has been made in cities where 40 percent ofchildren live. "Urban children are being neglected....
