Mamunur Rashid, secretary general of Raushon-led Jatiya Party faction, arrested in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested Kazi Mamunur Rashid, the secretary general of the Raushon Ershad-led branch of the Jatiya Party, over his alleged links to US citizen Enayet Karim, who is accused of acting as a foreign intelligence agent in Bangladesh. He was arrested from near The Westin Dhaka hotel on Sunday night, according to DB Additional Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam. “[Mamunur] was arrested in connection with the case against US citizen Enayet Karim,” he said.
