External debt servicing rises in July-August | Business

DHAKA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh's external debt servicing has surgedto US$667.11 million in the first two months of the current fiscal year(FY26), according to data from the Economic Relations Division (ERD) releasedhere today. Of the amount, the government repaid $488.79 million in principal and $178.32million in interest during the July-August period of FY26, compared to$415.62 million in principal and $173.60 million in interest during the sameperiod of the previous fiscal year (FY25).
