Ekushey Book Fair postponed until elections

The Bangla Academy has officially postponed the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 following a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The decision was announced in a notification issued on Sunday, September 28, and signed by the Director General of the Bangla Academy. According to the notice, the Ministry of Home Affairs, in a communication dated September 21, 2025, instructed that “arrangements must be made to organise the Amar Ekushey Book Fair after the upcoming national elections.” In light of this directive, the previously scheduled date of December 17, 2025 for the fair has been rescinded.
