Durga Puja begins with Maha Shashti in Khulna | District

KHULNA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) - Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival ofthe Hindu community, has begun across the Khulna City and District amid duereligious fervour and festivity. The five-day celebration began with invocation of Goddess Durga on the day ofMaha Shasthi. This year, Durga Puja is being celebrated at 981 mandaps, including 120 inKhulna city. Law enforcement agencies have adopted extensive security measures to ensurepeaceful celebrations. Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md. Tawfiqur Rahman said steps were taken to keepthe festival peaceful, including increased patrols, plainclothes deployments,and a crackdown on disruptive activities such as drug abuse.
