Fishermen catch marine fish 'Balck Poa' | District

PATUAKHALI, Sept 27, 2025 - (BSS) - Fishermen at the Alipur Fisheries Porthere caught a rare marine fish named "Black Diamond" or "Black Poa" today."Weighing 4.900 kilograms, the fish (Protonibea diacanthus) of the Sciaenidaespecies was sold at about Taka 80,000 as the cost of Taka 16,000 per kg,"World Fish Bangladesh Research Assistant Md Bakhtiar Uddin told BSS today.Being informed, many people gathered here as this type of fish species is notusually caught in the nets of fishermen, he said.When the fish was brought to the shop 'Fresh Fish Kuakata' owned by PM Musa,he bought it as he would prepare the fish for export, locals said.Earlier, he bought another "Black Poa" weighing 4.5-kg at the cost of Taka72,000 on Wednesday last.This...
