Huge smuggled goods worth Tk 1.43 cr seized in Sylhet | District

SYLHET, Sept 27, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth Taka 1.43 crore during separate drives from different areas in Sylhet border, said a press release of Sylhet BGB-48 Battalion this morning. The BGB conducted the drives on Friday and Saturday at Sonarhat, Utma, Sreepur, Sangram, Bichnakandi, Banglabazar, Sonalichela borders areas, the release said. During the drives, a large quantity of Indian cumin, fuchka, Kitkat chocolate, sugar, liquor, illegal beer and liquor were seized and a boat used for illegally extracting sand was confiscated.
