Export-import at Akhaura Land Port to remain suspended for 9-day during Durga Puja | Business

BRAHMANBARIA, Sept 26, 2025 (BSS) - Import and export operations throughAkhaura Land Port here will be suspended for nine consecutive days fromSeptember 29 to October 7, marking the observance of Sharadiya Durga Puja,the largest religious festival of the Hindu community. However, the operations of the land customs station and the passengermovement through Akhaura Immigration Check Post with valid passports willremain normal during the period, said Md. Faruk Mia, general secretary of theAkhaura Land Port Fish Exporters Association. "On the occasion of the Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja, as per the decision ofthe businessmen of the two countries, it has been decided to close theimport-export through the Akhaura land port for nine days from next Monday(September 29) to Tuesday (October 7),"...
