Awami-backed lawyer jailed over anti-state slogans | Others

DHAKA, Sept 26, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Dhaka has ordered the arrest of Rofiqul Alam Chowdhury (61), an Awami-backed lawyer, in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act following allegations that he chanted anti-state slogans in the Gulistan area of the capital. Rofiqul Alam Chowdhury is identified as a member of the Dhaka branch of the Bangladesh Awami Lawyers Association.
