Tongi fire death toll rises to 3 as another victim dies

A shop employee, who was injured in a chemical warehouse fire in Gazipur's Tongi, passed away in a hospital in Dhaka on Friday morning, September 26. The victim, Al Amin Babu, 23, worked at a shop at Sahara Market in Tongi, and son of Ratan Hawladar from Kurigram's Rowmari. Babu died at about 11:00am while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital's Burn Unit, said the hospital police outpost in-charge inspector Md Faruque. Around 95 per cent of his body was burnt, the police official said.
