3 killed as pickup van, auto-rickshaw collide in Sunamganj

Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sunamganj on Friday morning. The accident occurred at Pagla Bazar in Shantiganj Upazila on the Sunamganj-Sylhet highway. The deceased have been identified as Abadita Keshba Priya, 40, and her daughter Prathama Chowdhury, a seventh-grade student of Satish Chandra Balika High School, both residents of Ukilpara in Sunamganj, and the auto-rickshaw driver Sojal Ghosh, 50. According to police and local sources, the CNG-run auto-rickshaw was traveling from Sunamganj to Sylhet with passengers when it collided head-on with a pickup van coming from Sylhet.
