The Bangladesh Labour Party has been officially registered with the Election Commission (EC) with the pineapple symbol following a court order. On Thursday, party Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran collected the registration certificate from EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed. Iran said the party had initially applied for registration ahead of the 2023 general elections, but its application was rejected after scrutiny by the then EC. “After a prolonged legal battle in the High Court, we received a favourable ruling on May 29.
