Police have reported the arrest of 244 Awami League activists from different areas of Dhaka during flash processions. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said 14 crude bombs and seven banners were recovered from those detained. Earlier in the day, activists of the Awami League staged sudden processions in Gulistan, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Agargaon and Panthapath. According to the DMP release, they were arrested based on information that they were attempting to disrupt law and order and spread panic among the public through flash processions.
