Awami League leader Ajoy Kar Khokon arrested in Dhaka

Police have arrested Awami League leader and former Chhatra League general secretary Ajoy Kar Khokon. He was arrested in Dhaka’s Gulshan early on Wednesday morning by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). “He was organising the recent marches by the Awami League, which has had its activities banned,” said DMP Additional Police Commissioner and DB official Md Shafiqul Islam. Police are also checking if any other cases are pending against him, including possible links to incidents during the July Uprising.
